Valuations

SWS provides a valuation for insurance purposes with every piece they craft. They use a completely independent valuer for the obvious reason that he can make an impartial assessment of the item.

The Valuer, a member of the National Council of Jewellery Valuers, has a comprehensive gemmological laboratory and is a Fellow of The Gemmolocial Association of Australia and holds an Advanced Diploma of Diamond Grading. His valuations are comprehensive in the item description and include a photograph of the piece which makes it much easier to reproduce in the unfortunate event of a loss.

You will be assured as to your piece’s authenticity and SWS recommends updating your valuation no less than every 5 years.

Insurance Quotations

In the unfortunate event of the loss of any jewellery item, SWS welcomes providing an insurance quotation. It is helpful to have a current valuation, the insurers name and the claim number. They will help you negotiate your claim to a satisfactory outcome.
